Streetfest.... and stuff....

I finally decided to accept NUS mech eng. But somehow, i think i have to go through the process of making friends all over again... It kinda sucks cos it takes time for friends to be as close to the ones i have now... Aquos pple are all in FASS, 'cept me. Shooting, guys NS, gals either science or maths, some i'm not sure which fac yet. My class, most still dunno, but chances of them going to Mech eng is low. Cathy is in ME, but NTU. Sigh... just gotta make friends again bah.. o(>.<)o

Went for streetfest on the 25th May, @ suntec, with the forum pple. Kinda fun, but feels diff without Kai, tomoyo and sunny. Those who met up were: Ruka, weitingx, kien, shiro, meki, souless, chaklian, shoujiboy, situ, raidaime, nekoning, kuchi, gumok, harux, acrdemon, darkwildwolf, and a girl whose name i forgotten. Met dev nd yuuko too.

Anyway, this event was more on band performance than cosplay. Somehow, i'm just not very enthu about cosplay anymore, so kinda glad.. haha... Unfortunately, most of the rest weren't interested in bands, and so i ended up following them to the arcade, missing the performance of many bands. Stupid me. Should have just joined yuuko and watch the whole performance... :X Thankfully, caught Skyler's performance and the closing band's performance.

SKYLER: guiatarist- huei tai, bassist- devin, dunno the others, but their vox is pure WIN. Overall, they played well. 4 songs. 1-JAM by Yui. 2-Marunouchi Sadistic by Tokyo Jihen. 3- God Knows by Ayano 4- Weekend by Xjapan. Nice songs, vox carried it of well, whole band was audible, togetherness was present, It just rawked. haha... Below's the vox and bassist.

CLOSING BAND: Vox- Kunio(from ethereal/yishijie [band in superband2]) and Skyler's vox. Guitars- Channie. Other's i dunno as well. But with those 2 as vox, the prformance was stunning. They played song more towards the techno genre, but was very well done. Best song-Dogfightby MOVE. Din get to take pics.. All too blur.. but I managed to video them.... Was just great listening to such bands.

Really env0y these talented musicians... Heh! got to chat with some of them.. \(^o^)/ yay~!

Genaral Updates...

Hmm... Ages since i updated on my life... Kinda busy these few weeks... Or am i just slacking...? Haha.. Dunno lah. My mind is super luan now.... :X

1) Got letters from all 3 uni's le.. SMU business, NUS & NTU Mechanical eng. Which should i choose....? Argh!! o(>.<)9 But most probably, I'll go NUS, cos heard their eng. there is more theory based. Moreover, ALL of aquos will be there, but all of them in FASS... (except me =.=").

2) Then.... Should i go for any NUS camps?? nobody pei me go engin camp... \(>.<)/

3) AHhhh!!! Basic theory test for driving tmr, and stupid me did not book for any trial test until it's too late, no vacancy. So i'm just going for the real one tmr... (-.-;) Hopefully can pass...

4) Oh no... my dad's coming back this sat. My table's in a mess, so many things not completed. I AM A SLACKER~!! (*o*)

NOw for happy updates~!! Whee~~~~ I met with all my close frens recently. Last sun, met SHOOTING peeps at ben's hse. Though we just sat and chat and played xbox, just being in each others company was fun enuf! And i gotta play guitar heroesIII at last! haha... Then mon, went cycling with AQUOS peeps... as usual, chat up stuff.... did alot of catching up. Sorry that jac and i were late!! :X Then! wed night, met YW, MH & randall for dinner at Han's. crapped alot as usual.. heh... old frens just like to crap together! XD This sat i'll be meeting rm and cathy!! So i'm only left with my dearest dajie, shiying, whom i haven't met... Hope she gets well soon!! That's all for now~!

J-rock intro time... XD
THIS IS A MUST READ, whether u like jrock or not!!! This is INTERESTING!
This time, i'm introducing..... HIDETO MATSUMOTO. a.k.a HIDE

A freakin'ly talented guitarist that had a huge, and i mean HUGE!!, impact on Japan's j-rock world! Born on Dec 13, 1964, he went through japan education. But wad's interesting was that he later studied cosmetology and fashion at the Hollywood Beauty Salon School in present-day Roppongi Hills, from which he graduated with outstanding results in 1984. Later that year he took a nationwide examination and successfully obtained a beautician license. Hence, came about his Vibrant and colourful image as a VERY PRO guitarist, both during his solo periods (HIDE with spread beaver) and when he was in X japan or US based band - Zilch. HE'S FAMOUS FOR HIS PINK HAIR! Check out this pic on his various images... ^^Unfortunately, he passed away in May 2, 1998. He was found hanged with a towel tied to a door knob. Some said it was suicide, while others said it was an accident and that he was doing a technique to relieve upper back and neck pains, commonly used by rock guitarists. Whatever the case, he is still missed till this very day. Quoted: Hide left a hole with his passing that can never be filled…but he also left behind a powerful legacy. He remains, to this day, an inspiration and a muse for those who were left behind. His words, his music, his attitude…these are all things that he left for others to cherish…tools that he left for others to build their own works of art. His music is timeless, and his fans…new and old…those who knew him when he still lived and those who found him after he died, have that piece of him to hold on to. We will never forget hide, he will live on through his music forever. This video below shows the impact of his death on the WHOLE of japan. Look at how many thousands came for his funeral and lined the streets, weeping tears. Must watch!

Till this very day, HIDE remains a great part of the j-rock world. This year, on 2-3 May, 2008, Japan celebrated his 10th Death Annivesary. A HIDE MEMORIAL SUMMIT was held in remembrance of him. It was a big event. And till this day, after his death, he is still gaining new fans and his songs are still being released in different compilations. Plushies of him were even produced. Check out this pic! Quoted: Hide wasn’t just “X-Japan” or “hide with Spread Beaver” but hide was music, he was style, he was visual kei. Though, he may be gone physically, his memory within all of us will forever be remembered. He will never be forgotten.

The Third & Elfen Lied

Hmm.. Gonna write anime reviews this time....

The Third - Girl with the Blue Eye. (ザ・サード－青い瞳の少女）

The best word to describe this anime is: PURE. Seriously, this anime is so different from the rest i've seen. IT IS NOT LAME AT ALL, unlike the recent animes which can be soooo lame that u're sick of it. Although humour is still present in converstations between characters. This storyline circulates mainly around this 17 yr old girl, Honoka, who travels throughout the barren earth with the help of a sand tank operated by Bogie, an AI. One night while traveling through the desert, she comes upon a strange man named Iks. After saving his life from a stigma of desert ants, Iks requests to follow Honoka in her journeys so he can observe the world. Nicknamed SWORDANCER, she wields a sword perfectly and loves guns and automobiles too. Comparing this to gundam, the action part is much nicer as it includes swords and robots. AND this anime does not have pple with TWISTED personalities, thank god. haha. The scenes are always filled with hope and great graphics.. Night skies filled with stars, the rare blooming of flowers in the desert at night, fireflies in the night.... Plus, even the romance part of the section is so pure, no kissing stuff or the typical romance stuff. Just understanding of each other and being there to help always. And, the opening song is just sooo nice! Click the bottom link to listen! ^^

Elfen Lied. (エルフェン・リート）

This anime is 60% gore & twisted, 20% nudity and 20% touching. It's only 14 episodes, and i got hooked. Lolx... The bloody scenes really put me off, but the storyline is addictive. It's mainly about a group of humans born with two small horns on their head, something like like cat ears, and they have invisble hands with varying ranges. They used these hands to kill pple, tearing them apart, dislocating heads. But many of them became like that cos they have been abused by humans since young, just because they are different. Some abandoned by parents, some kicked and shamed by classmates. It just shows the cruel side of humanity. And the organisation experimenting on such a 'race' of humans also tortured them unmercilessly. Till, through a series of events, one of the girls, lucy a.k.a nyuu~, lost her memory and got to mix around with some good humans... and another girl, somehow also joined them. And they got to experience family life where they felt warmth and love for the first time. But, the organisation was still hunting them down.....

I almost cried at the end... o(T.T)o my blog's song is the opening song to this anime. ^^

I'm currently super addicted to shoujo manga... haha... They're super nice to read, compared to their anime, manga is better, not as draggy... But action anime still pwns! haha..
