Sayonara 08, Irrashaimase 09....

2008.... Was when i had to say bye to JC life... This was the training field tat we shooters had run for physical training. I'm not joking when i say i really miss it. Haha.. But i miss the company and shooting range more... Anyway, A lvl's ended. Was complaining about not being able to get a job (refer to old posts.. XD)... But thankfully i could give tuition. Anyway, it was just a super slack time for me, 2008 that is... While others are slogging their way through work, i'm slacking and playing with my student(note no 's'). Achievements of the time b4 uni started?
1) Slacked
2) Met lotsa pple from cosplay forum and jrock forum. Learnt alot from them, esp the jrock pple. The way to analyse good bands from bad ones, differentiate melodic metal from heavy metal, mainstream rock from anguro rock, etc... These skills, i picked up from them, though i'm still considered a noob.
3) Read lotsa manga, but i lost interest in anime, unfortunately. :X
4) Learn piano, got back my interest in it
5) Picked up guitar, at least i know the basics properly
Well.. I guess that's all. Kinda pathetic comparing to wad some of my peers have gone through. What i seriously missed was the chance to get working experience. But i shant rant about that any longer. That was the past. Then come uni... Life was great. Really. Going to Raffles Hall was blessing to me. I've come to know many great friends. Friends who taught me fun, seriousness, company and unity. Mostly from my OG grp. Point form of uni life.
1) Days of orientation. i lurve my OG. Yes, they are lame, great companions and stress relievers.
2) Beginning of school. Breezed through first month of uni. But became way too slack.
3) Started getting into trouble with studies, no self discipline, etc..... Still dared to go for suppers.
4) Joined concert music (great experience. and i got a new music software), RH band(got to touch bass guitar at last, though i'm just a keyboardist), cultural committee (learnt to contact companies, etc... kinda bored though).
5) Was actively participating in activities. But my studies were affected, mainly cos i lack self discipline again.
6) Final exams. I totally screwed them. kinda given up.
7) Oh shit. i grew fatter. i lack stamina. i'm not even 30% of my fitness level in jc.
So conclusion to year 2008? It was a really bad year. A year of evidence to show my incapabilities and uselessness. To add to it, i think i kinda grew up. There seem to be so much responsibilities nowadays. No more study and rest and just do ur own job. Think about others, ur family, friends, etc... Dun give them more trouble. Dun just state ur views and hurt others. Gotta juggle time between friends and family, etc.... With the control my parents have over me, it's kinda depressing. [like how everyone is out celebrating new year and i'm stuck at home. :X] But time and again, i've to convince myself, there are also many positive sides to this. "Just accept the fact that ur family is just super family-orientated and there's nothing u can do about it. Living in a hall is as much freedom as u can get. Not forgetting how much u INTENTIONALLY lied to got for suppers and indy sessions. Feeling guilty but continuing to do it is as far as u can go. Stop complaining." -- is wad i've gotta remind myself constantly.
But still it's thanks to GOD, indy, aquos, yw, sy, eveline, shooting peeps, and all my dear friends, that i'm not some emo kid (i think i will be if i dont have u pple) wallowing in self-criticism and stress. However, 2008, i've just been running away from everything. Face abit of problems, and i just chuck the whole matter aside.
2009 will be the year to make things right.
1) Buck up on ur freakin studies. No more manga's in the afternoon and skipping of maths lectures.
2) Organise ur freakin time properly and start exercising! Stop being a lazy bum.
3) Prac piano often, not 3hrs b4 ur lesson
4) DO ur tutorials before lessons.
5) Start revising jap
6) Go church regularly
7) Stop feeling negative about restrictions
8) Be a better person
K. That's all i have. Simple to type, but tough to complete. Hopefully i can do it. :X
Anyway, yw said a sentence to me that had quite an impact. " Wo hen pei fu ni leh... can keep everything [as in wad others confide in me] to urself". Sometimes, i really feel like i have no good points at all. But after yesterday and wad yw said today, i can gladly say, yep, my best point is that, i can seriously lend listening ears and not go spilling pple's secret all around. I guess that's the best thing i can offer to the pple who cared for me and to those who mean alot to me.
There's a drawback about this point though... I end up thinking alot about serious stuff... Haha.. but it's okay.... i learn more, i mature faster, i help my friends lessen their burden. ^^
Heh... this post is sooo long, so much radom stuff are being brought in. I just felt like typing out wadever i'm thinking, be it whether it has to do with year 2008-2009 or not.. haha... But here's an ultra serious bit (skip it, cos it's gonna bore u):
All in all, i'm thankful for god being there for me, guiding me. Through all my years of education, u were there for me. Please, give me the spirit of determination and help me live university life fruitfully. Into thy hands i commit myself. Guide me father lord. Amen.
Lastly, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL WHO'S READING!!
